Candidate would be responsible for performing an array of clerical tasks to provide support to lawyers and paralegals in their day-to-day activities. They conduct research, schedule meetings and tasks, create documentation, and perform administrative functions. Legal assistants are indispensable in saving time for partners and associates.
Responsibilities of Legal Administrative Assistant
- Assists lawyers and paralegals in administrative tasks.
- Prepares legal documents.
- Investigates legal cases.
- Prepares court materials.
- Interviews clients.
- Takes notes during hearings.
Requirements of Legal Administrative Assistant
- Bachelor’s degree in legal/law.
- 3-5 years previous experience in a legal department.
- Office administration experience.
Skills and Abilities Desired
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
