An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Team Leader in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. As a job holder you are responsible to lead a team of technicians in maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, coordinating tasks to ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities and enhance guest experience.
Responsibilities of Team Leader
- Leading and supervising a team of engineering technicians or maintenance personnel. This involves assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring that work is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Overseeing the maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the hotel property. This includes HVAC systems, elevators, generators, fire safety equipment, and more.
- I am developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure that regularly inspect, service, and maintain all equipment and systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure guest comfort and safety.
- Identifying and troubleshooting problems with building systems and equipment, and coordinating repairs as needed to minimize downtime and disruption to hotel operations.
- Liaising with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance services that cannot be handled internally. This involves obtaining quotes, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the quality of work performed.
- Ensuring that all building systems and equipment comply with relevant safety regulations and building codes. This includes conducting regular safety inspections and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in maintenance and engineering practices.
- Responding to emergency situations such as power outages, floods, or other building emergencies promptly and effectively to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety of guests and staff.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as housekeeping and front desk, ensures that promptly address and meet guest requests for maintenance and repairs to their satisfaction.
Requirements of Team Leader
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- A minimum 3 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hospitality or similar environment.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems HVAC systems, boilers, elevators, fire alarm systems, and water treatment systems.
