Job Description
RAKBANK is presently accepting applications from suitable candidate for the job role of Assistant Manager Card Operations. The role holder is responsible to manage and optimize card operation processes, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance with regulations, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities of Assistant Manager Card Operations
- Manage overall activities within Card unit and ensure that timely and quality services are provided to both internal and external customers through customer-focused operations in order to maximize cardholder satisfaction, strengthen brand image and maximize profitability.
- Continuously review, recommend and implement improvements / enhancements to operational procedures & workflows.
- Work closely with Service Quality functions and ensure effective complaint management & handle customer complaints and enquiries when escalated and channel feedback into process improvements.
- Provide counselling, mentoring, motivation, guidance and training to all staff in Card Operations to ensure that performance is optimized through a high level of staff morale/initiative/development.
- Work closely with Projects & IT to ensure that all operational supports are addressed on new system initiatives / enhancements / ongoing business needs.
- Manage the end-to-end process of merchant acquisition, including due diligence, contract negotiation, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify strategic merchant partnerships.
What You’ll Do More?
- Ensure compliance with card association rules and regulations for merchant acquiring.
- Streamline and improve the merchant onboarding process for efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience for merchants.
- Implement and maintain KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures.
- Oversee AFCU processes, including card activation and transaction authorization.
- Continuously monitor and enhance authorization strategies to minimize fraud and maximize cardholder satisfaction.
- Collaborate with fraud prevention teams to mitigate risks associated with AFCU.
- Manage the settlement process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
- Reconcile settlement accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with finance and treasury departments to optimize cash flow management.
- Develop and maintain an effective chargeback management system.
- Investigate and resolve chargeback disputes in compliance with card association guidelines.
- Implement preventive measures to reduce chargeback occurrences.
- Manage all central operation functions of the department by facilitating work processes to ensure alignment with established policies and procedures in order to achieve high performance standards.
Requirements of Assistant Manager Card Operations
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of proven extensive experience in card operations within the banking industry, Lean Six Sigma certification or process improvement experience is a plus.
