Job Description
There’s an opening in Dubai at Swissotel Al Murooj for a full-time Chef de Partie in the in-room dining section. If you’ve been working in a kitchen for a few years and know how to keep a station running smoothly, this might be a solid fit. This is a hands-on role, not one where you just delegate. You’ll be part of the team that makes sure guests ordering room service get dishes that are plated well, taste good, and arrive on time. The right person will know how to handle pressure, communicate with both kitchen and front-of-house, and keep things clean, consistent, and professional. Previous hotel kitchen experience is not necessary.

Responsibilities
- Handle your assigned section for in-room dining prep and service.
- Keep your workstation clean and prepped before each shift.
- Work on breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
- Cook and plate dishes according to hotel standards.
- Communicate with service staff to manage guest requests.
- Help junior team members stay organized during service.
- Take care of food stock levels and alert the chef if anything’s running low.
- Follow kitchen hygiene and food safety rules.
- Make sure the food going out looks and tastes right.
- Rotate stock, date items, and reduce waste.
- Join team briefings and kitchen meetings.
- Be flexible with your shift and willing to step in if another station is short.
- Assist in training new staff when needed.
- Suggest improvements for the menu or plating.
- Handle basic equipment maintenance and keep tools in shape.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
Culinary diploma.
Experience
2 to 4 years of cooking experience in hotel kitchens or similar setups. Room service background helps.
Skills
- Fast, clean prep work.
- Attention to detail with food presentation.
- Good communication with other kitchen staff.
- Understands guest dietary needs and how to adapt.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Knowledge
- In-room dining flow and guest expectations.
- Food hygiene practices (HACCP preferred).
- Inventory tracking and portion control.
- How to plate international and local dishes properly.
- Working knowledge of kitchen tools and commercial ovens.
- Safe food storage and allergen handling.
