Job Description

There’s an opening at AECOM in Dubai for a landscape inspector. This is a full-time role that’s more field-based than office.This role’s mostly about being on-site, walking around landscaping jobs, and making sure the work’s actually being done right stuff like pavements, plant beds, irrigation, lighting, all of it. Some of it’s basic, some more detailed. You’d be catching issues early, checking drawings, talking to contractors, taking quick site notes or photos, that kind of thing. It’s more for someone who’s been around construction and landscaping before not a beginner role. You’ll be expected to know how things should look, what’s acceptable, and when to raise concerns. Also helps a lot if you already understand how things work in the UAE  the building rules, safety checks, and the back-and-forth that happens on job sites.

Landscape Inspector

Responsibilities

  • Walk through job sites and check paving, kerbs, walls, water features, and other hardscape.
  • Inspect trees, planting beds, turf, and shrubs to make sure they’re healthy and installed right.
  • Flag anything that doesn’t match the plans or looks off in terms of quality.
  • Write simple but clear site reports and send them to the team.
  • Help fix problems by talking with the contractor or landscape architect.
  • Stay on top of project timelines and make sure landscaping is on schedule.
  • Make sure irrigation setups and plant choices make sense for the climate.
  • Watch for safety and environmental compliance at every location.
  • Be available to visit multiple sites during the week as needed.
  • Join site meetings or calls when updates are needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, or anything closely related.

Experience

At least 10 years in landscape inspection or a similar role.

Skills

  • Good at spotting small mistakes or quality issues on site.
  • Can explain site issues clearly, both in writing and in conversation.
  • Knows how to read technical drawings and site plans.
  • Understands how to use irrigation and planting equipment.
  • Can keep up with ongoing construction work and adapt quickly.

Knowledge

  • Knows common plants and soil types used in UAE projects.
  • Understands how to install and inspect paving, gravel, and outdoor fixtures.
  • Familiar with health and safety practices for construction zones.
  • Understands local zoning rules and building codes.
  • Able to use simple software for reports or site logs.

Applicant Location

Must be based in the UAE or ready to move to Dubai. A valid UAE driver’s license will help — a lot of the work involves traveling to sites.
