Job Description

This job’s for someone who doesn’t mind heavy lifting and knows their way around event gear. Encore’s hiring a rigger in Dubai, full-time. As a rigger  you’ll be setting up, fixing, cleaning, and packing equipment before and after events. During the show? You’ll keep an eye on the gear and fix anything that acts up. It’s physical, hands-on work—no desk stuff here. You’ll load trucks, install setups on-site, and then tear it all down when it’s done. Sometimes you’ll work alone, sometimes with a crew. Either way, it’s about getting things in place, working safely, and keeping the event running without issues.

Responsibilities

  • Set up equipment on-site exactly how the plan says.
  • Run smaller shows or setups when needed.
  • Load and unload trucks, no damage.
  • Clean everything once the show’s done.
  • Store gear properly; no shortcuts.
  • Handle rigging gear safely every time.
  • Work with your team and follow instructions.
  • Let the department head know if something’s broken or missing.
  • Talk to clients on-site; be professional.
  • Wear your safety gear and follow site rules.
  • Keep track of what gear goes where.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

None required. If you’ve trained on event setups or rigging, great.

Experience

  • If you’ve worked at events, in a warehouse, or done setups before, that helps.
  • But if you can handle gear and follow instructions, you’ll learn fast.

Skills

  • Can lift, carry, stack, move.
  • Use hand tools without breaking stuff.
  • Think fast when something fails.
  • Work solo or in a team, no issue.
  • Listen well, stay focused.

Knowledge

  • Know what each cable or truss does.
  • Understand how things fit on-site.
  • Keep gear clean and working.
  • Read a layout and follow it.
  • Know when something’s off and say so.
