Job Description

Keolis is currently hiring an AFC Technician full -time to join the maintenance and engineering team located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. AFC Technician will be responsible for providing preventive and corrective maintenance assistance in automated ticket collection systems and related components, including CCTV installation. There is one on site, a fully engaged situation. The salary limit is not revealed, but the role provides long -term career opportunities in a large global transport company. Candidates must have a technical diploma in electronics, electrical, mechanical or computer -related fields, and preferably for one year’s experience with AFC system maintenance. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential, with the ability to read technical charts and work under pressure.

Job Title

AFC Technician

Responsibilities

  • Support AFC Team Leader in all maintenance activities for AFC and CCTV systems.
  • Perform installation, servicing, and reconfiguration of fare systems in stations and depots.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning ticket vending machines, automatic gates, and control systems.
  • Use technical manuals, diagrams, and tools to conduct precise troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed records using computerised maintenance management systems.
  • Assist in new technical implementations or project-based upgrades of AFC systems.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of tools, equipment, and service environments.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and perform tasks during shift duties.
  • Follow all safety protocols and work instructions as per company guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

A diploma, vocational certificate, or degree in electronics, computer science, IT, electrical, or mechanical engineering is required.

Experience

  • Preferred: 1 year of hands-on experience with AFC systems or in similar technical maintenance roles.
  • Experience with ticketing machines, access gates, and central fare control systems is a plus.

Skills

  • Ability to operate electronic testing tools and diagnostic software.
  • Competence in interpreting schematics and method statements.
  • Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of fare collection systems and electronics.
  • Familiarity with CCTV systems used in transport facilities.
  • Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Awareness of electrical safety codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of computer-based maintenance logging and ticketing systems.
  • UAE transit operations and infrastructure basics.
