Job Description

ENGIE Solutions Middle East is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician G1 for a full-time on-site position based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role is part of the construction management group, which focuses on maintaining important electrical systems within the data center environment. The ideal candidate will have a technical diploma or ITI certification in electrical or electronics and will have at least three years of relevant experiences in handling data center facilities. The technician will demonstrate preventive maintenance, emergency preparation and ensure the operation of all larger electrical systems including UPS, river and generator. Applicants should have strong technical knowledge, hand pairing skills and a solid understanding of safety protocols.

Job Title

Electrician G1

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections and log equipment performance (UPS, switchgears, ELV systems).
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical systems.
  • Operate and troubleshoot electrical panels, UPS, busway systems, and fire safety systems.
  • Utilize CAFM (FSI) app for task management and reporting.
  • Support after-hours maintenance and facility needs as required.
  • Comply with safety protocols and participate in training sessions.
  • Maintain organized records and stock of essential spare parts.
  • Keep all electrical and associated areas clean, safe, and functioning at optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members and engineers to ensure consistent operations.
  • Respond efficiently to equipment malfunctions and facility emergencies.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

Diploma or ITI in Electrical and Electronics (Required)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in integrated data center facilities management.
  • 2 years experience in electrical commissioning or testing in data centers.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of UPS, control panels, DBs, switchgear, and generators.
  • Familiarity with BMS, ELV, and cooling systems.
  • Proficient in electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Skilled in using CAFM systems and mobile maintenance apps.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of facility operations in high-availability environments.
  • Health and safety compliance and PTW processes.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Technical knowledge of HVACs, chillers, and emergency systems.
  • Familiarity with tools, safety standards, and reporting protocols.
