Job Description

Air Arabia is presently looking to hire skilled candidate for job position of Head of Hubs & Outstations Maintenance in Sharjah. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring standardization of engineering & maintenance procedures and processes across all airline hubs in line with respective regulations and Air Arabia Group. Responsible for ensuring required engineering & maintenance services at Outstations across the Group network are contracted with external service providers and conducted in line with Group standards and business needs. This includes negotiating cost-effective service agreements, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. To ensure the successful implementation and achievement of business plans for the respective functions aligned with Air Arabia Group’s strategy.

Responsibilities of Head of Hubs & Outstations Maintenance

  • Leads the respective teams across all airline hubs with overall responsibility of function related activities and relationships related to Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Supports the executive management in establishing strategic and budgetary plans for related areas and works with his/her teams to ensure successful delivery of the respective budgets and plans.
  • Provides direction and guidance to Hub teams to ensure that aircraft maintenance activities and processes are carried out in line with Group Standards. Facilitates regular communication with Hubs to ensure efficient and safe engineering & maintenance activities are carried out and to proactively identify & resolve any potential concerns.
  • Develop and implement aircraft maintenance strategies for Hubs and Outstations that align with the operational goals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track maintenance efficiency, aircraft availability, and compliance metrics.
  • Ensures that all maintenance activities carried out by 3rd party service providers are as per the quality and standards laid down by the respective Regulatory Authorities and the Air Arabia Group. Ensure there is steady pipeline of services providers for all AOC’s Outstation maintenance; solicits service providers for new destinations / end-of-contract in line with procurement processes.
  • Reviews and supports the commercial offer for Outstations Maintenance before final approval. Ensuring required business justifications for contract renewal and/or new contracts.
  • Ensure related manuals & processes are established, communicated, and updated in line with regulations, and as per Air Arabia policies and procedures.
  • Continuous review of procedures and processes whilst introducing key change management programs necessary through process improvements. This includes examining all current work methodologies. Practices and will continually seek ways to enhance in-house capability to assist in reducing the overall maintenance costs.

What You Will Do More

  • Analyzes and evaluates management reports to highlight variances and identify gaps in performance. Recommends and implements corrective measures and alternative cost-effective solutions as needed.
  • Partners with stakeholders and mainly support functions such as Finance, HR, and IT. To ensure cost-effective utilization of resources, systems & tools. Leverages technology to drive continued improvements.
  • Partners with Quality Assurance, Safety, Security Department. To ensure adherence to standards and regulations and ensures timely response to audit findings.
  • Represents Air Arabia and liaises with Regulatory Authorities when needed.
  • Lead by example, motivates and maintains a competent and high performing team. Capable of meeting current and future business needs; Coach & Mentors team members for their career and professional development.
  • Manage performance through objective setting, continuous support, feedback and formal review to ensure business objectives & KPI requirement is meet.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing is in place and in line with the business plan to meet the operational needs of the department.

Requirements For Role of Head of Hubs & Outstations Maintenance

Eligibility requirements for role of Head of Hubs & Outstations Maintenance are as under:

  • Degree in Aviation, Engineering, or other recognized qualification, preferably with a post graduate business qualification.
  • 12+ years of experience in Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance of which at least 5 years will have been at a Senior management level in aircraft maintenance.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Knowledge in Commercial/Quality Assurance /Safety/Internal & External Audit functional operations and practices related to and affecting aircraft maintenance.
  • Employs a balance of technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to help drive business results. Execute new initiatives that support the company’s objectives.
