ENGIE Solutions is hiring an Electrical technician (G1 – Senior, G2 – Skilled, G3 – Junior) to work on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Location & Work Type
- Location: Yas Island, Abu Dhabi
- Work Type: Full-time, On-site
- Reporting To: Electrical Supervisor / Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain electrical systems, including transformers, RMUs, feeder panels, SCADA, relays, lighting, and LV/MV networks
- Perform preventive maintenance and reactive repairs across site assets
- Read and understand electrical drawings and SCADA screens
- Conduct site inspections, log data in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Follow all safety rules and risk assessments, including use of PPE
- Respond to emergencies and electrical faults quickly and safely
- Escalate problems and record faults according to site protocols
- Guide and train junior staff (for G1 and G2 roles)
- Work with other departments (HVAC, Civil, Mechanical) during repairs
- G1 (Senior Electrician): 8+ years’ experience (including 3 as senior); leads SCADA checks, switching operations, and team mentoring with full MV/HV access and authority to isolate faults and lead technical reports.
- G2 (Electrician): 5+ years’ experience; performs regular electrical maintenance tasks, updates logs, and works independently with access to LV/MV rooms.
- G3 (Junior Electrician): 2–4 years’ experience; assists senior electricians, performs basic tasks, and works under supervision with limited system access.
Requirements
- Can read electrical drawings and use tools like multimeters and meggers
- Know how to work around energized systems safely
- Skilled in SCADA, relays, cable testing, and system troubleshooting
- Knows local/international standards (DEWA, ADDC, IEC, BS)
Qualifications
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Required Safety Certifications:
- Electrical Safety
- Lockout Tagout (LOTO)
- Work at Height
- First Aid
- SCADA/Substation Safety (for G1)
