Job Description
Grand Plaza Mövenpick Media City is presently accepting applications from suitable candidate for the job role of Assistant Chief Engineer. The job holder will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing the functionality of hotel facilities, ensuring a seamless and top-notch experience for guests.
Responsibilities of Assistant Chief Engineer
- Engineering Leadership: Assist the Cluster Director of Engineering in overseeing the engineering department’s daily operations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and support.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
- Supervise and participate in maintenance and repair activities to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and train the engineering staff to optimize their performance and skill development.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the engineering team.
- Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the engineering department budget.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-effective measures without compromising quality.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
- Implement and maintain effective safety programs for the engineering department
Requirements of Assistant Chief Engineer
The requirements of Assistant Chief Engineer are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
- Health and Safety certifications are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
- Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call as needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
