Job Description

Specialist Airworthiness Safety provide specialist support to Airworthiness Safety, to ensure effective implementation and operation of flydubai’s Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports Airworthiness Safety in building awareness of the importance and benefits of a safety-conscious culture, emphasizing prevention.
  • Leads and conducts thorough closed-loop Airworthiness investigations, including ROSI and Annex 13 investigations, for air and ground incidents, ensuring facts efficiently while maintaining investigative quality and provide achievable recommendations in detailed reports.
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve safety performance and reduce incidents and accidents.
  • Coordinates with the GCAA and other regulatory authorities on Reporting of Safety Incidents (ROSIs), safety matters, and ROSI report conclusions and closure.
  • Organizes, prepares, and presents monthly Engineering Safety Action Group (ESAG) reports and meetings to discuss airworthiness safety trends in a timely manner.
  • Applies proactive and predictive safety management methods to identify hazards and manage risk to ensure continuous improvement in Safety, and monitors the effectiveness of recommendations to ensure risks are minimized.
  • Conducts regular Airworthiness Safety inspections, assessments, and reviews across all relevant organizational areas and throughout the network.
  • Reviews and evaluates safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Communicates safety information effectively to management and employees to foster an informed safety culture.
  • Supports the development and promotion of (Safety Management System) SMS and human factors programs to raise risk awareness, reduce errors, and enhance safety.
  • Analyzes accident and incident trends to alert departmental heads of adverse patterns, collaborating with Airworthiness Safety agencies when applicable.

What you will do more

  • Represents flydubai in safety matters and attend seminars and conferences as directed by the Manager-Airworthiness Safety or Senior Manager Safety, by participating in relevant meetings and provide technical guidance on airworthiness and safety matters.
  • Analyzes and leads in-depth analysis of Safety data to develop Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) and Safety Performance Objectives (SPOs), and any other trend reports in collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance stakeholders.
  • Provides expert advice, including industry best practices, via Safety Promotion strategies to increase safety awareness on operational issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (3+ years)
  • University Degree in Aviation Engineering or ICAO Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License or equivalent professional qualification
  • Fluent in English
  • Minimum of 5 years working in Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance Operations Good understanding of Local and International Regulations
  • MS Office
  • 5 – 7 years
  • SMS or Compliance Certification
  • Basic B1/B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License (desirable)
