NAFFCO presently has a job opening for suitably qualified and experienced candidate for position of a Forklift Operator.
Job Description of Forklift Operator
- Safely operate forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse, ensuring efficient loading and unloading procedures.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to identify any maintenance needs and ensure safety compliance.
- Accurately record inventory movements using handheld devices or warehouse management systems to maintain precise stock levels.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries while handling heavy goods.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on forklifts to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
- Stack and store goods in designated areas, maximizing space while preventing damage to products.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding inventory levels and any operational issues.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and contribute ideas for improving workplace safety and efficiency.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, showcasing familiarity with material handling processes.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management and adherence to safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and supervisors.
- Problem-solving skills to address operational challenges promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on safety and accuracy.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, to meet operational demands.
