Job Description

TOS Specialist at Abu Dhabi Ports will handle Terminal Operating System activities including utilization of processes, arranging training and test plans, building relationship with vendors, resolve system issues and coordinate procurement activities. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 7000-15000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of TOS Specialist

Act as the Single Point of Contact for all Terminal Operating System related issues and develop good working relationships with all departments and other terminals to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of activities.
Ensure to the utilize Terminal Operating System (TOS) and analyze TOS-related business processes to improve processes, efficiency and quality.
Liaise with business units to understand the need of new software requirements/solutions, plan for development in coordination with TOS contractors, follow-up on development schedule, and arrange for testing and release the changes in production.
Arrange training to employees to properly use the Terminal Operating System, develop extensive test plans, raise awareness on technology migration and resolve problems both acute issues (2nd line support) as well as more long-term nature.
Provide recommendation on best in practice solutions and initiate the digitization drive by implementing Port Community System, Custom integration, Online payment and systematic recording of operations activities across all ports of Abu Dhabi Ports.
Monitor the maintenance and enhancement of the TOS software applications in FT and related applications.
Provide support in developing SLAs and AMCs with vendors, a disaster recovery plan and Business Continuity and also actively testing those plans for their effectiveness and workability.
Ensure the proper documentation of all the manuals, project documents, and change requests etc.
Provide support to IT colleagues in the proper usage of the Business Modelling tools.
Coordinate the procurement of new TOS and evaluation of vendors TOS.

Requirements for Role of TOS Specialist

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Port Management or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.
Work experience in ports operations, Terminal Operating System implementation and other TOS systems such as Navis SPARCS N4 system, Jade logistics, Octopi etc.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

Excellent English. Arabic is an added advantage.
Must have in-depth knowledge of the core functionalities of TOS.
Must have good communication skills.
Should be conversant with the vendor selection and system evaluation procedure.
Must possess and be able to demonstrate advanced computer skills with expertise in TOS.
Should be a self-starter and should be able to think outside the box in making the port operations more efficient.
