Job Description

Category Manager in Grocery Retail – PVT Label at GMG will lead the development, growth, and management of their Grocery section- private label portfolio in the UAE. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality, competitively priced products that align with their brand strategy. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 10000-25000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Category Manager

  • Develop and execute category strategies for private label products to achieve business goals and maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to create exclusive, high-quality products under the private label.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, gaps, and customer needs, ensuring the private label assortment remains competitive.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency and quality.
  • Oversee the product development process, from concept to launch, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Monitor sales performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) for private label products, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Work closely with marketing, merchandising, and operations teams to create and execute promotional campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards for all private label products.

Requirements for Role of Category Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience as a Category Manager, Buyer, or Product Manager in private label or grocery retail.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Strong knowledge of private label product development, market trends, and customer preferences.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with retail management systems.
  • Understanding of local and international food safety and quality standards.
