Responsibilities of Painter

• Responsible for wallpapering, taping, sanding, painting, staining, and furniture repairs for guest rooms.
• Responsible for tiling, caulking, grouting, plastering, and overseeing minor renovations throughout the hotel.
• Performs all clean-up duties after repairs.
• Completes all assigned work orders and maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
• Maintains the paint shop in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
• Responds to emergency situations and carries responsibilities of fire warden as assigned.
• Maintains a stock of necessary parts and supplies.
• Actively takes part in providing and participating in on-job training.
• Performs additional duties including shift work that may be required and/or necessary.
• Carries out all work in a safe manner, following all guidelines as outlined in the Fairmont Hotels’ Health & Safety Program.

Requirements of Painter

The requirements of Painter are as under:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience with a good understanding of various methods of wall coverings, tiles, and paint/ stain techniques

Skills Desired

• Health & Safety conscious with an eye for detail and a very high standard of finishing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written & verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure.
