Job Description
Content Editor/Translator at Sharjah Coop will update the website with products information and brand images which is called static content. Arrange/update/translate the data of all products in Arabic and English and upload it on the website. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 6000-12000 AED/month.
Responsibilities
- Handle a broad spectrum of content requests ranging from simple typo fixes to strategic content projects, prioritizing appropriately and ensuring content solutions follow their content strategy guidelines.
- Read and comprehensively understand the context of the given material and ensure high-quality translation from Arabic to English and vice versa.
- Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation to ensure that the translated texts convey original meaning to the reader.
- Reformulating and enhancing original copy/content based on the briefing provided by the concerned stakeholders and according to the specified target audience.
- Implement, edit quality, clear, attractive, and error-free content that meet the needs of key stakeholders and audience/customers.
- Grow Sharjah Coop subscriber base by regularly providing helpful content aligned with their needs and interests.
- Follow various translation-quality standards to ensure legal and ethical obligations.
- Review all content and provide suggestions where necessary to improve them.
- Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs.
- Understand the target audiences needs through online searches, reviews of existing research.
- Maintain calendars and juggle deadlines, keep track of content throughout the editorial process and ensure that work is submitted on time.
- Keep up to date on new translation tools and practices to implement best translation practices through attending events, fairs, and exhibitions.
- Recommend creative ideas to exceed expectations of goals and objectives to create cohesive, accurate content.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.
Requirements for Role of Content Editor/Translator
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, Journalism, English/Arabic Literature, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in content editing, translation, or a related field.
