Al Futtaim Group is actively seeking experienced and qualified individual to take on the role of a Fleet Maintenance Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance programs, strategies, and policies to maximize the reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the fleet, is responsible for sustaining a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective vehicle fleet, contributing directly to the organization’s overall success and operational excellence.
Duties of Fleet Maintenance Manager
- To monitor PVPM Maintenance Spend regularly and publish reports reference to Budget vs Actual.
- To monitor and control vehicle down time of the fleet within the maintenance cycle ensuring this is kept to a minimum reducing the cost of replacement vehicles.
- Negotiations with Insurance Company and Accident Repair Claim Management.
- Monitoring Fleet health by monitoring timely execution of Preventive Maintenance Service.
- Stake holder (Repair Facilities) capacity, Competency and performance assessments against set SLA’s and Business Requirements.
- To work as an escalation, point for internal and external stakeholders for any matters concerning vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- To provide support and guidance to the Maintenance Controllers regarding all jobs pertaining to the Maintenance and individual development to enhance the productivity of the departments.
- To formulate and update Vehicle Model SMR Budgets for Quotes/Tender purposes.
- To provide/obtain vehicle repair approvals as per Approval Matrix outlined in SOP.
- Prepare No Claim Letters and other administrative documents pertaining to vehicle repairs for Management review and signatures.
- Review Maintenance spend trends and explore opportunities to negotiate cost structures with vendors and suppliers to positively influence the bottom line.
- Establish and manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of vehicles.
- Implement routine inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Manage budgetary considerations, control costs, and allocate resources effectively.
- Evaluate and select suppliers for parts, equipment, and services, negotiating favorable agreements to optimize operational efficiency.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of a Fleet Maintenance Manager are as under:
- Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in car service, car rental or accident workshop industry.
- Equal number of relevant work experience in fleet maintenance, automotive repair, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role, demonstrating the ability to lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with a variety of vehicle types, including trucks, cars, and specialized fleet vehicles.
