The Senior Specialist Health & Safety at Adidas performs all tasks of an Occupational Health & Safety Specialist in line with Occupational Health & Safety Policy for Emerging Markets. This function advises the management team related to H&S performance in the workplaces for a cluster of countries in EM for corporate offices, wholesale, DC’s and retail stores. In addition, the job holder will also advise on the optimization of preventive of the local regulation, such as the organizational fire protection and hazardous substances.
Duties of Senior Specialist Health & Safety
- Responsible for occupational health and safety, first aid and accident prevention to promote a culture of safety in workplaces.
- Responsible for coordination & cooperation with external departments in matters of occupational safety and fire protection (e.g. public fire departments, trade supervisory office, district office, state trade associations, employers liability insurance associations).
- Supporting design of workplaces, advising employees, carrying out measurements and cooperating with the company doctor if is applicable.
- Responsible for the risk assessments of operating facilities and technical work equipment.
- Investigating root causes of occupational accidents, keeping statistics and trends, recording and evaluating the results of investigations and proposing measures to prevent these occupational accidents.
- Regular coordination and reporting on issues of occupational health and safety at work and accident prevention in order to identify the need for adaptation in design of workplaces, in particular due to legal changes.
- Lead the H&S Training for employees, thus ensuring the highest standards of a safe working environment at the site.
- Advising the company on legal (Hazardous Substances Ordinance) & trade association regulations in connection with activities and handling of hazardous substance.
- Monitoring and advising on the integration and continuation of the occupational health and safety management system ISO 45001.
- Support the development of measures to promote the safety culture in the context of Vision Zero.
Requirements of Senior Specialist Health & Safety
- University degree, engineer, technician, master craftsman or comparable prerequisites (management tasks, technical project management, master craftsman-like activity).
- Training as occupational safety specialist or willingness to train as occupational safety specialist.
- Training as a fire protection officer or willingness to train as a fire protection officer.
- Qualification in the field of hazardous substances.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in Facility Management and Workplaces function.
- Experience with and knowledge of data integrity and reporting process governance principles.
- Experience in implementation of projects.
Skills & Abilities Desired
- Confident use of MS Office
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good command of English and preferably local language.
