Responsibilities of A Lead Electrical Engineer
- Assume sole responsibility for assigned electrical engineering work scopes.
- Carry out electrical discipline work within a project team, supporting the project team for field development of oil and gas production facilities.
- Plan, budget, organize and control a segment of the electrical engineering deliverables for the project.
- Prepare electrical deliverables for all project phases the oil and gas industry.
- Complete all work without compromise to quality and deliver it according to the project schedule.
- Provide direction and guidance on all electrical engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties.
- Liaise with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion
- Promote safe behavior at all times.
- Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
- Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
- Assist in the coordination of all activities related to electrical engineering design.
- Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
Requirements for Role of Lead Electrical Engineer
The eligibility requirements for role of Lead Electrical Engineer are as under:
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 6 years proven capability in an engineering design company.
- Experience working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferable.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
- Experience of participation in HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating studies.
Knowledge & Skills Desired
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Electrical design and analysis.
- Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Electrical engineering design.
- Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards.
- Strong problem solving skills.
