Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is seeking a qualified candidate for the job of Emergency & Crisis Specialist for ADNOC Refining in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Purpose of Emergency & Crisis Specialist

The job role of Crisis & Emergency Specialist at ADNOC (Abu Dhabi, UAE) is to assist in the Development, Delivery, Maintenance, Assurance and Improvement of the Crisis & Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plan of the company HQ/Fields (Assets). He / She will also assist in ensuring the state of Emergency Preparedness within the Company.

Responsibilities of Emergency & Crisis Specialist

  • Assists in Developing, Implementing, Coordinating, and Administering Crisis Management Plans and Business Continuity for the Company. This must be in accordance with the HSE Company control procedures, ADNOC Code of Practices and Company requirements.
  • Assists in developing long term strategy objectives and KPIs for areas related to Crisis Management and Emergency Response.
  • Participates in Developing and Reviewing drill plans to address different crisis and business continuity scenarios. Reviews drill reports including Lesson Learned and follows up on Recommendations as applicable.
  • Participates in periodic reviews of Head Quarter and Facilities Emergency preparedness in order to determine their Operational and Functional capabilities in Emergency situations.

Your Duties

  • Assist in Developing the Emergency Response Plan for each Business Unit covering all assets necessary for recovery.
  • Support Team on all Emergency Procedures ensuring that they are compliant with risk analysis studies, safety cases, audit recommendations, feedback from exercise, drills and industry norms.
  • Assist in compiling and updating Crisis Management and Emergency Procedures. Maintain a document control system on all Company Emergency Response and Business Continuity related procedures.
  • Assist in Developing, Reviewing and Evaluating Business Continuity Plans and Procedures for implementation.
  • Maintain and update all resource materials associated with Emergency Plans.
  • Develop and review mitigation strategies. Create scenarios to reestablish operations in the event of Business interruptions.
  • Suggest opportunities for Strategic Improvement in Crisis Management handling or Mitigation of Business Interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory or industry specific change initiatives.
  • Attend Professional meetings, read literatures and participate in training or other Educational offerings to keep updated on new Developments and Technologies related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Sc. in Disaster Management, Chemical Engineering, Fire & Safety Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Accredited Certification in Emergency response.
  • CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) BCI Certification is preferable.
  • 8 years of experience in Crisis Management/Business Continuity or a refinery emergency response tebaham or equivalent.

Knowledge & Skills

  • High levels of personal initiative, creativity and self-motivation.
  • Knowledgeable of how to work within and implement an Incident Command System.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Disaster Recovery Planning techniques and Technologies.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of Business Continuity ISO 22301.
  • Knowledge on Emergency Response Software.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is preferable.
