Responsibilities of Senior Analyst

Following are the key responsibilities of Senior Analyst:

Operational

• Analyse existing services and processes periodically, and identifying the gaps in the area of process, IT, policy, & people in order to recommend areas of improvement related to new systems, enhancing process control, sustainable long term solutions, reduction in errors, wastage and rework, reducing cycle time and eliminating non-value added activities
• Contribute to the identification of Information Technology Levers in a process improvement phase to recommend IT solutions to enhance a process performance.
• Develop Maintenance Request Form (MRF) for systems and determine the scope of the change and priorities for improvement in procedures and regulations.
• Coordination with the relevant organizational units to implement the change requests
• Design and Build a Prototype, aligned with BPI approach, of new process to determine the feasibility of the to-be services or processes and how they will lead to internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Conduct detailed assessments on the Dubai Customs as-is processes; conduct gap analysis based on the defined standards as per International governing bodies and provide suitable recommendations to drive the process back to capability mapping.
• Liaison with business owners and subject matter experts of respective business unit, to derive high level business requirements, issues and problem descriptions, by determining current state and future state assessments through application of effective requirements elicitation techniques.
• Determine the optimal process/system implementation by identifying alternative solutions.
• Perform the required analysis to select the best option so as to ascertain each potential solution alternative’s probability of satisfying the business need in terms of economic, operational and technical feasibility.

• Review information developed through feasibility study with business units to validate requirements, solutions.
• Ensure the study satisfies the business drivers.
• Contribute for improving Process Improvement Methodology by incorporating efficient standards, in annual strategic and operational plan for Process Improvement Section.
• Implement the plans made.
• Monitor system performance based on process improvement targets that were measured during the Sustain phase to measure the new services & processes.
• Collect and analyse data including time & cost in the current state, and identifying the point of failures, defects and delays, to perform route cause analysis, and presenting the result of the analysis along with feasible recommendations for improvements.
• Maintain and share process knowledge by embracing methods, techniques, notations, standards and best practices derived by the business process team.
• Ensure coordination between the IT organization & process owners by defining levels of detail in the business process models.
• Working to correct / improve IT Systems based on improvement opportunities identified & approved.
• Conduct benchmarking in services and processes to ensure review of  services and business processes.

Confidentiality wrt the role of Senior Analyst

• Maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in line with Dubai Customs information security policies to protect information from any disclosure.

Developmental

• Lead Process Improvement projects to ensure the continual review of the methodologies in place.
• Train new members in the team to communicate & explain business policies, best practices.
• Manage the operational commitments in the absence of the Section Manager when delegated to develop management skills.

Requirements of Senior Analyst

• Minimum:Bachelors in Business Process Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems or IT.
• Preffered: Masters. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience in customs environment.
• At least three years experience in the field of Risk Management.

Skills and Abilities Desired

• Must have knowledge of Information Technology domain areas such as Software Development, Service, Oriented Architecture.
