Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sous Chef to join the Culinary team at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. This is an entry level full time job. There is no nationality and gender restriction for this job, all nationality and both males and females can apply for this job.
Responsibilities of Junior Sous Chef
- Assist Chef de cuisine/Sous chef in the supervision of all colleagues engaged in the kitchen.
- Attend daily meetings with Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef regarding menus.
- Assist Chef de cuisine/Sous Chef in planning menus and recipes and test samples in conjunction with the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef.
- Write specific and accurate product specifications and standard recipes for use in the computer and by the material manager.
- Conjunction with the chef de cuisine/Sous Chef establish job methods and supervise on a regular basis and correct if necessary, cooking standards to maintain a high quality of food and service on quality basis.
- Plan rosters on a 1 weekly basis and to review on a daily basis with the Chef de cuisine/Sous chef overtime, rosters and holiday requirements and absenteeism.
- Liaise with the Chief steward in order to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained in all areas of kitchen.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.
Requirements of Junior Sous Chef
- Diploma / Certification or training in culinary.
- At least one year in an international five-star hotel in similar position of above.
- At least 5 years as a Chef de Partie.
