Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director of Food and Beverage to join Food & Beverage Department in Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort. There is no gender restriction for this job, both males and females can apply for this job.
Responsibilities of Associate Director
- Set periodically business plan, budget, forecast and performance reports close conjunction with each Outlet Manager
- Analyze food and beverage daily reports
- Monitor closely the profitability of all food and beverage outlets in order to provide solutions.
- To improve problem areas and assist in implementing corrective measures.
- Initiate special promotions and activities that generate additional revenue and popular interest, maintaining the hotel image
- Coordinate the development, interpretation and implementation of hotels policies and procedures
- Monitor service and food and beverage standards in all outlets and conference & events.
- Ensuring that managers take corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in coordinating the organizational and administrative functions in all areas of the Food and Beverage Department.
- To ensure delivery of the strategy and compliance with Jumeirah standards
- Assist in monitoring the activities and trends of competitor hotels, restaurants and bars and keep up to date.
- International trends in order to ensure the competitive advantage of the hotel.
- Make recommendations for modernization of equipment, service methods, and presentation to improve guest satisfaction and profits.
- Participate in public relations activities, sales calls or other promotional activities designed at enhancing the image and profitability of the Food and Beverage department and the hotel.
- Personally and frequently verify that guests in the hotel are receiving the best possible service available in order to make continuous improvement
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure that HACCP and other local regulations are adhered to ensure the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness in food and beverage areas
- Maintain effective communication between all departments and a favourable working relationship with all departments to promote a harmonious working climate
- Conducts random checks to ensure all standards are applied
- Ensure food and beverage outlets update guest preference database regularly
- Work closely with Jumeirah corporate office and promote Sirius and ISME activities within the food and beverage department
- Maintain up-to-date records of the food and beverage department personnel including appraisals, individual development plans, succession plans, attendance, vacation, lieu days, overtime, labour costs, absenteeism, and disciplinary action.
- Conduct daily food and beverage meetings to discuss VIP guests, arrivals, in house and any other food and beverage activities or financial performance
- To assist in bringing all Outlet Managers up to date with market needs and trends and ensuring that their product matches these needs
- Train and develop Outlet Managers so that they are able to operate independently with their own profit centre and to exceed budget
- Perform any other duties that management may reasonably require
- Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.
Requirements of Associate Director
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality or related field.
- Minimum 10 to 12 years in managing F&B operations in hotel industry & 2 years in a senior F&B management role in a luxury hotel.
- Experience within a large Conference & Events Hotel.
