Duties Of Senior Engineer Electrical Maintenance
- Direct and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the unit.
- Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by Management for the position.
- Supervises the implementation of predictive, preventive, corrective, modification and major shutdown maintenance programmes participates in the preparation of such programmes.
- Establishes requirements for major repairs or replacement of spare parts, provides advice on actions to be taken on arising problems, and discusses.
- Determines work priorities with other concerned personnel.
- Includes assessing the economic implications of various maintenance methods and ensuring effective equipment records are kept and updated.
- Establishes level of equipment efficiency through regular review of equipment performance.
- In coordination with Electrical Section Head.
- Finalizes review report and failure analysis reports, highlights reasons for equipment failure and raises or reviews recommendations to rectify such malfunctions.
- Suggests procedures to enhance equipment maintainability, alleviate operational anomalies and rationalize maintenance cost.
- Directs troubleshooting of chronic problems associated with plant machinery.
- Provides guidance to subordinates to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with correct engineering and safety standards, and follows up on such work unsatisfactory completion.
- Ensures the preparation of engineering technical reports.
- Confirms that all necessary engineering details are precisely included in appropriate standard formats.
- Comments on equipment modification or new equipment installation proposals.
What You Will Do More
- Prepares specifications and assists in the preparation of drawings by development engineering section.
- Reviews bids submitted by contractors or detailed estimates provided by development engineers for coverage and technical contents.
- Provides technical supervision over the execution of development contracts.
- Review regular reports submitted by contractors, provides overall assessment of their performance and alerts them of arising discrepancies or areas requiring improvement.
- Reviews contractors invoices prior to payment.
- Review annual requirements prepared by subordinates for spare parts and materials for equipment overhauls.
- Advises on levels by predicting wear and tear and other factors affecting during the operating period.
- Liaises with stores personnel on detailed stock set ups for electrical plant, equipment and amends per field requirements.
- Participates in the preparation of preliminary budget estimates for capital and operating requirements in so far as his unit is concerned.
- Provides justifications for new investment proposals.
- Assists supervisor in controlling the approved budgets.
- Reviews technical evaluation of bids pertaining to direct budget purchase requisitions.
- Review all T.Q.M. proposal and comments on them.
- Participates in the preparation of and implements detailed maintenance procedures and practices.
- Carry out activities safely and with due regard at all times to hazards, particularly in the plant.
- Recommends alternative maintenance frequencies based on past history of breakdowns, equipment performance data or as a result of regular condition monitoring surveys.
- Carry out necessary DAA and HSE requirements related to this issue.
- Assists in preparing training programs for National employees undergoing on the job training by identifying specific training needs.
- Provides training, guidance and counselling to trainees, developees and other subordinates with a clear objective of career development.
Requirements For Senior Engineer Electrical Maintenance
The eligibility requirements for the role of Senior Engineer Electrical Maintenance are as under:
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 10 years’ experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of Power Generators, electrical equipment and associated control panels, preferably in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry, including 4 years in a supervisory position.
