Job Description

Iron/Steel industry is looking for a diligent and security conscious individual to join their team as a Warehouse Assistant. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of their warehouse operations while assisting with various tasks related to inventory management and facility upkeep.

Responsibilities of Warehouse Assistant

  • Monitor and control access to the warehouse premises, ensuring only authorized personnel enter.
  • Conduct routine security patrols within the warehouse facility.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments to prevent theft and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and assist with inventory management tasks.
  • Respond promptly to alarms or security incidents and take appropriate action.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to enforce safety and security protocols.
  • Report any security breaches, suspicious activities, or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
  • Perform general warehouse duties, including loading and unloading goods when necessary.

Requirements of Warehouse Assistant

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical stamina for regular patrols and lifting of moderately heavy items.
  • Previous experience of less than 1 year in security or warehouse operations is an asset.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Strong observation and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
  • Knowledge of safety and security procedures.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
