Job Description
Enterprise Master & Reference Data Manager Dubai Islamic Bank is responsible to define, design and implement a Master & Reference Data capability, supported by policies, standards and processes to apply rigor to the governance and creation, governance and maintenance of critical master and reference data across the organization, that is consistently synchronized across heterogenous business applications in order to improve the business value and reliability of critical DIB data.
Responsibilities of Enterprise Master & Reference Data Manager
- Oversee execution of target operating model, roadmap and vision for Master & Reference data.
- Define policies, standards, controls and process to support the governance of Master & reference data, ensuring data standardization and drive consistency across multiple systems/business applications.
- Play a fundamental gatekeeping role and data custodianship in safeguarding Master data from unauthorized access and changes.
- In collaboration with the metadata management team, enforce data ownership and hold data owners and data stewards accountable where policies, standards and/or processes are not being adhered to.
- Guide data stewards on best practices and methodologies that are appropriate for the improvement and maintenance of master & reference data under their departmental ownership.
- Implement a Master & Reference data management platform in order to improve efficiencies in identifying and resolving issues.
- Consult with IT Enterprise Architecture to develop conceptual, logical and physical data model for master data subject areas.
- Document all master data flows and validate these against the data lineage in order to identify misalignment of data flows that need to be rectified.
What You’ll Do More?
- Establish and maintain a RACI matrix for master data attribute updates in order to coordinate data changes with relevant stakeholders and owners of data.
- Define and implement a suitable master data management implementation style and synchronization patterns for various data domains.
- Follow the communication plan to increase transparency of master data changes.
- Work closely with the data quality management teams to prioritize data quality issues relating to master & reference data.
- Maintain reference data entities in accordance with ISO (or applicable standards) as the only permissible reference values acknowledged by DIB.
- Participate in data governance committees and report any identified trends impacting master data and provide expert guidance on sustainable issue resolution.
- Identify and document root causes that degrade the quality of data and work with business and IT teams.
- All the above accountabilities include but not limited to any additional/new tasks or responsibilities assigned by the line Manager.
Requirements of Enterprise Master & Reference Data Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Business administration or Data Science.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Financial Services with deep knowledge in various Data Management disciplines: Master Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Quality, Business Intelligence, Data Governance.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Master Data Management.
- Data Analysis (Excel, SQL etc.).
- Data Policy development and enforcement.
- Expertise in data exchange modes and API management.
- Data Architecture and Modeling in (structured and unstructured).
- Banking Products, services and operations knowledge.
- Banking/Operations workflow management.
