Canadian University Dubai (CUD) is presently hiring suitably qualified & experienced candidate for faculty ranks of an Assistant/Associate Professor Financial Econometrics. The selected candidate will be responsible to educate & guide students about the intricacies and procedures involved in the financial modeling and analysis. Purpose of Assistant/Associate Professor Financial Econometrics
- Implement the accredited curriculum in accordance with the academic standards of the university and requirements of Ministry of Education.
- Teach a full course load and holding office hours accordingly.
- Lay due emphasis on non instructional activities (i.e. research), creative activities or administrative services to the university.
Duties of Assistant/Associate Professor Financial Econometrics
- Conduct high quality research in the field of Financial Econometrics, with a focus on developing innovative quantitative models and techniques.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Financial Econometrics, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of subject matter.
- Maintain adequate records of progress and evaluation for all students enrolled in classes assigned and submit grades on dates indicated by Registrar each semester (mid-semester and final).
- Prepare syllabi in conjunction with the Department Head for distribution to students in the first week of the course.
- Assist Department Head in evaluating course objectives and sequencing.
- Recommend curricular changes if any.
- Maintain set office hours during semester.
- Advise students and assist in tracking “at risk” students with poor academic performance.
- Recommend to the Department Head the acquisition of reference materials for the department.
- Develop new courses as requested by the Department Head or Dean.
- Supervise, teach & administer independent studies.
- Advise students during the registration periods.
- Attend faculty & departmental meetings.
- Attend orientation and professional development workshops.
- Understand the purpose and goals of the university & espouse them in performance of their responsibilities.
- Perform community outreach activities.
- Serve as an ambassador to CUD by promoting the institution when engaged in professional duties off campus.
Qualification & Experience
- PhD in the specialized domain PhD in Finance with Econometrics/Quantitative methods.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in teaching graduate or undergraduate studens in same field.
- Applicants with experience within a Canadian Institution are preferred
