Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL) is presently hiring qualified and skilled candidate for the job role a Workshop Technician I. The successful candidate will be accountable to perform less complex and routine organizational aircraft maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable technical orders, standards, and regulations, and job guides. Work is closely supervised. Perform O, I and D Level when its applicable.

Duties of Workshop Technician I

  •  Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
  • Adjust, repair or replace defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents, using hand tools Using hand tools, special tools, and test equipment.
  • Examine and inspect calibration on installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications and ensure performance of task based on standard procedure.
  • Maintain work area and shop equipment. Housekeeping. Ensure serviceability of general tools, and test equipment by carrying out periodic inspections and calibration.
  • Test Aircraft components such as hydraulics under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers.
  • Lead scheduled service and maintenance tasks on components and advice on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting components and related aircraft equipment.
  • Lead unscheduled maintenance, repair and troubleshooting tasks assigned to aircraft systems, components, and related equipment and ensure the right implementation of procedures.
  • Examine and test repaired components and systems according to standards and procedures and approve the process before signing off.
  • Review and inspect maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports as required. To ensure complete documentation and sign of for the supervisor’s approval.

What You Will Do More

  • Report findings to supervisor and issues to supervisor and collaborate with the supervisor to assess the problem and lead the implementation of the adopted solution and ensure proper execution in performing tasks.
  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching to technicians on basic tasks and procedures to support their development.
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls. Ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to company Quality management system (QMS) Safety Management System (SMS) and local occupational health and safety regulation.
  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Eligibility Requirements for Role of Workshop Technician I

The requirements for job role of Workshop Technician I are as under:

  • Technical diploma or skill level 5 certified in respective trade.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience within maintenance operations area at an Airbase.
  • Military aircraft experience letter or equivalent.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of aircraft structure, components, trublleshooting, wiring system and functions..etc.
