Key Responsibilities for Teacher

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons that meet the requirements of the American curriculum and inspire students to reach their full potential
• Work closely with fellow teachers to develop schemes of work, share best practices, and create a positive learning environment
• Assess student progress regularly using the school’s data system, then adjust teaching strategies to support individual needs
• Communicate effectively with parents about student achievement and well being, including during parent teacher conferences and through school platforms
• Maintain strong classroom management aligned with the school’s behaviour policy, acting decisively when needed while treating all students with respect
• Run a weekly extra curricular activity each term, contributing to the wider life of the school community
• Collaborate with support staff such as speech and language therapists or educational psychologists when required to ensure every child thrives

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Science or a related subject is essential, along with a PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification. Candidates must have at least one to two years of teaching experience. Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language is highly valued. A clean enhanced DBS or police check is required.
