You will deliver Biology lessons that spark curiosity and prepare learners for top‑tier universities worldwide – from Oxford and Cambridge to Stanford and Toronto. Key Responsibilities

• Teach Biology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (GCSE), following the National Curriculum for England. Therefore, ensure students acquire deep knowledge of cell biology, genetics, human physiology, ecology, and evolution.
• Plan and deliver engaging, practical‑rich lessons that challenge every learner, using real‑world contexts to demonstrate the relevance of biological sciences.
• Assess and monitor student progress using both formative and summative methods. Use data to identify gaps, then implement targeted interventions to raise attainment.
• Contribute to the school’s thriving enriched curriculum programme, including extra‑curricular activities, charitable endeavours, and initiatives that build global citizenship.
• Set high expectations for all students, fostering a mindset that every individual can achieve top performance, and provide the support needed to reach those goals.
• Collaborate with the Science department to develop resources, share best practice, and participate in professional development that keeps teaching at the forefront of innovation.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians through reports, parent evenings, and online platforms, offering clear feedback on student progress and next steps.
• Uphold the inclusive ethos of Jumeirah College, using differentiation and scaffolding to ensure all learners – including EAL and SEN students – thrive in your classroom.

Requirements And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related life science, plus PGCE/PGDE or equivalent teaching qualification (B.Ed also accepted).
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience following the National Curriculum for England, specifically at KS3 and KS4 (GCSE).
• Exceptional subject knowledge with a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching, evidenced by strong student outcomes.
• A firm belief that all students have the potential for top performance, combined with the drive and passion to enable them to succeed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues in a multicultural setting.
• Experience contributing to an enriched curriculum programme (e.g., science clubs, field trips, competitions, or community projects).
