Additionally, this role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality swimming instruction at a well-resourced American curriculum school on Yas Island.

About the Role

As a Swim Instructor at Yas American Academy, you will teach swimming lessons to all classes across the school, ensuring skill development and water safety for students from Pre-KG onwards. Furthermore, you will plan and deliver engaging, structured swimming lessons tailored to different ages and abilities while maintaining constant supervision of children in and around the pool. The successful candidate will also organise swimming galas, competitions, and extra-curricular swimming programmes while coaching students in technique, fitness, and competition preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach swimming lessons to all classes across the school ensuring skill development and water safety
• Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons tailored to different ages and abilities
• Supervise and manage the swimming assistant to support effective lesson delivery
• Maintain constant supervision of children in and around the pool at all times
• Organise and participate in swimming galas, competitions, and sports-related events
• Coach and mentor students in swimming techniques and competition preparation
• Lead and run extra-curricular swimming programmes for students
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and management

Requirements

• UAE approved Swimming Coach Certificate
• First Aid Certificate and CPR knowledge
• Qualified lifeguard certification
• Competent instructor able to support the needs of all learners
• Expertise in teaching swimming techniques and water safety to all ages and abilities
• Knowledge of pool operations, risk management, and emergency procedures
