Job Description

Student Support Assistant at Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi is responsible to play a crucial role in supporting the inclusion of pupils with additional educational needs in the school community. Student Support Assistant will normally work with an individual student, supporting them to overcome barriers to learning (for example, those with English language difficulties, social, emotional and behavioral difficulties or other academic educational needs). The aim of the role is to help the pupil to learn as effectively as possible both in group and individual situations, inside and outside of the classroom. In conjunction with Class Teachers, Student Support Assistants assist in the development and delivery of a suitable programme of support both within the classroom and on a one to one basis.

Job Requirements of Student Support Assistant

  • A minimum of a high school diploma level education.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a similar position.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • A sound understanding of teaching best practice.
  • High level of fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students and parents.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • High level of international and inter cultural understanding.
  • An understanding of the British curriculum would be advantageous.
