Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily store operations, including receipt, storage, issuance, and return of raw materials, work‑in‑progress (WIP), and finished goods for defence manufacturing.
- Maintain real‑time inventory accuracy in the ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle), performing cycle counts, root cause analysis of variances, and reconciliations.
- Implement and enforce strict stock control procedures for sensitive and high‑value items, including serialised components, explosives precursors, and ITAR‑controlled materials.
- Lead a team of storekeepers and material handlers, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing on‑the‑job training in safety and handling protocols.
- Coordinate with production planning, procurement, and quality assurance to ensure materials are available for scheduled builds and that non‑conforming items are quarantined and dispositioned promptly.
- Manage warehouse layout and bin locations, optimising space utilisation and travel paths to improve picking efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with EDGE Group’s HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) and security regulations, including proper storage of hazardous substances and access control to restricted areas.
- Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, including kitting, packaging, and dispatch of finished products, ensuring documentation (delivery notes, shipping manifests) is accurate and timely.
- Generate regular reports on inventory metrics (e.g., stock turnover, slow‑moving items, obsolescence) and present recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager.
- Lead annual physical stocktakes, coordinate with internal and external auditors, and implement corrective actions for any discrepancies.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A diploma with extensive experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in warehouse or store supervision, preferably in manufacturing, aerospace, defence, or automotive industries.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of lean principles (5S, Kanban) and material handling best practices.
- Familiarity with handling hazardous materials and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., ADNOC, Dubai Civil Defence).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and analysis.
- Valid UAE driving license and forklift operator certification are highly desirable.
