This role develops, plans, and schedules preventive and corrective maintenance activities for medium‑ and large‑calibre munitions and weapon systems, ensuring optimal asset performance and minimal downtime. You will create detailed job plans within SAP/ERP systems, coordinate with maintenance teams and operations, and analyze equipment history to improve preventive maintenance strategies. Consequently, your planning directly supports the UAE’s sole manufacturer in this field, where safety compliance and reliability are mission‑critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal asset performance and minimal downtime across production equipment.
- Create detailed job plans including scope of work, manpower requirements, materials, tools, safety requirements, and estimated durations.
- Maintain and manage maintenance plans, task lists, and asset data within SAP/ERP systems, therefore ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Generate and control work orders, ensuring proper prioritisation, scheduling, and closure in line with maintenance strategies.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams, operations, and contractors to ensure planned activities are executed efficiently and on schedule.
- Analyze equipment history and maintenance data to improve preventive maintenance strategies and reliability.
- Identify and plan required spare parts, materials, and resources in advance. Work closely with procurement and stores to ensure timely availability of critical spares.
- Monitor backlog, schedule compliance, and maintenance KPIs. Recommend improvements where necessary and support shutdown and turnaround planning.
- Prepare technical scopes of work and support contractor planning and mobilisation. Ensure all plans comply with safety regulations, permit‑to‑work (PTW) requirements, and company procedures.
- Continuously improve planning processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and cost‑effectiveness. Prepare reports and dashboards on maintenance performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in maintenance and engineering roles, leading projects and maintaining equipment in high‑safety environments (e.g., power plants, machinery operations, defence manufacturing).
- Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Proven experience with SAP/ERP or CMMS systems for maintenance planning, work order management, and asset data maintenance.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken) – mandatory for this role.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance strategies, reliability analysis, and spare parts planning.
- Knowledge of permit‑to‑work (PTW) systems and occupational safety standards.
- Ability to analyse equipment history and failure trends to optimise maintenance frequencies and job plans.
- Experience preparing technical scopes of work and coordinating with contractors for shutdowns and turnarounds.
