This role plans, coordinates, and executes maintenance activities for medium‑ and large‑calibre munitions and weapon systems, including system modifications, upgrades, and new installations. You will prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, and SLAs for contractor‑executed projects, then supervise in‑house technicians and service providers to ensure timely completion. Consequently, your expertise in SAP/ERP systems, spare parts inventory management, and regulatory compliance (ADOSH, NFPA, Civil Defense) directly supports mission‑ready solutions for the UAE’s sole manufacturer in this field.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities and system modification projects, therefore ensuring clear scopes, schedules, and resource allocation for each initiative.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history in SAP/ERP systems.
- Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, SLAs, and design proposals for contractor‑executed maintenance and modification projects.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to ensure equipment availability, reliability, and safe operation at all times.
- Supervise in‑house technicians, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and effective task completion.
- Plan and assign maintenance tasks, ensuring tools, resources, and permits are available. Manage routine maintenance requests and breakdowns, ensuring timely response and closure.
- Initiate and oversee procurement of services, materials, and spare parts. Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical spares.
- Oversee gate pass issuance and permit‑to‑work (PTW) processes. Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Support maintenance‑related projects, upgrades, expansions, and capital improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with ADOSH, NFPA, Civil Defense, and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports, analyse maintenance data, and recommend improvements for reliability and cost efficiency. Track and improve maintenance KPIs such as PM compliance, schedule adherence, asset utilisation, and maintenance costs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3–8 years of experience in maintenance and engineering roles, leading projects and maintaining equipment in high‑safety environments (e.g., power plants, heavy machinery operations, defence manufacturing).
- Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Proven experience with SAP/ERP systems for work order management, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
- Strong customer focus, negotiation, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken) – mandatory for this role.
- Knowledge of permit‑to‑work (PTW) processes, gate pass issuance, and contractor management.
- Familiarity with ADOSH, NFPA, Civil Defense, and other UAE regulatory requirements for industrial safety.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Experience preparing technical specifications, scopes of work, and service level agreements (SLAs).
