This role ensures that all cultural and heritage sites under Dubai Culture maintain the highest standards of hygiene and pest prevention, operating in alignment with Dubai Municipality’s Public Health Pest Control Section regulations[reference:0]. You will oversee integrated facility services (IFS) contractors, particularly pest control operations, by implementing site‑specific Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plans. Consequently, your work directly protects valuable collections, buildings, and the visitor experience across Dubai’s cultural assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor site‑specific pest control plans in coordination with IFS providers, ensuring compliance with Dubai Municipality standards and international IPM principles.
- Conduct regular site inspections of museums, galleries, and heritage sites to identify pest activity, structural vulnerabilities, and sanitation issues[reference:3].
- Maintain accurate records of all pest control activities, including treatment logs, chemical usage, inspection reports, and corrective actions for regulatory audits.
- Liaise with external IFS vendors and internal stakeholders to schedule treatments, coordinate access, and ensure minimal disruption to public operations.
- Oversee the safe storage, handling, and disposal of pest control chemicals, ensuring all practices comply with approved methods and safety protocols.
- Track and analyze pest activity trends, then recommend preventive measures such as structural repairs, waste management improvements, or enhanced cleaning protocols.
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports on KPIs including response times, treatment efficacy, and site compliance, presenting findings to the Facilities Manager.
- Train site staff on basic pest prevention measures, including proper waste disposal, reporting procedures, and maintaining a pest‑free environment.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of pest control consumables, ensuring cost‑effective purchasing and stock rotation.
- Respond promptly to emergency pest incidents (e.g., rodent infestations, termite outbreaks) and coordinate immediate remediation actions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in facility management site coordination, with at least 1 year focused on pest control or integrated facility services.
- Valid B‑1 Pest Control Technician Certificate issued by Dubai Municipality or equivalent certification recognized by the Public Health Pest Control Section.
- Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Environmental Science, Agriculture, or a related field; diploma holders with extensive experience may be considered.
- Strong knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, pesticide chemistry, and Dubai’s pest control regulations[reference:10].
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with Computer‑Aided Facility Management (CAFM) software for work order and inventory tracking.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); Arabic proficiency is highly desirable.
- Valid UAE driving license and ability to travel between multiple cultural sites across Dubai.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain meticulous documentation.
