Senior Software Engineer – Radar Abu Dhabi, AE Full-time

This role leads the design and development of embedded software and radar system components, therefore ensuring fulfilment of critical defence system requirements for the UAE’s sole manufacturer of medium‑ and large‑calibre munitions. You will write high‑performance, reliable C/C++ code for real‑time, resource‑constrained environments, integrating hardware and managing memory while implementing communication protocols (UDP/TCP, SNMP, MODBUS). Consequently, your work directly supports mission‑ready solutions, lab and field integration campaigns, and military certification processes (NATO AQAP, MIL‑STD).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of embedded software and radar system components, ensuring full compliance with defence system requirements and performance specifications.
• Write high‑performance, reliable C/C++ code for real‑time, resource‑constrained environments. Therefore, integrate hardware and manage memory efficiently.
• Implement and optimise communication protocols including UDP/TCP, SNMP, and MODBUS. Ensure system‑level coherence with multidisciplinary teams (RF, hardware, systems, test).
• Conduct testing, validation, troubleshooting, and support lab and field integration campaigns to verify system performance under operational conditions.
• Contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, and military certification processes (e.g., NATO AQAP, MIL‑STD).
• Mentor junior engineers, therefore ensuring compliance with defence‑grade software and engineering standards across all project phases.
• Take ownership of key technical components within complex defence projects, collaborating closely with systems, hardware, RF, and test teams.
• Support qualification activities and maintain rigorous documentation standards for military‑grade deliverables.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering within embedded or defence systems, with a proven contribution to complex defence projects.
• Strong embedded programming skills in C and C++. Solid knowledge of Linux‑based systems for real‑time applications.
• Experience working with real‑time programming and communication protocols (TCP/IP, MODBUS, SNMP).
• Proven ability to take ownership of key technical components, therefore driving projects from design through to field deployment.
• Experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams including systems, hardware, RF, and test engineers.
• Strong understanding of military‑grade documentation, qualification, and certification processes (e.g., NATO AQAP, MIL‑STD).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage but not mandatory.
