About the Role

Bateen World Academy in Abu Dhabi is looking for a qualified Senior Accountant to join its finance team, commencing April 2026 or sooner by appointment. Additionally, this full-time position involves managing all finance-related activities for the school, including budget preparation, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes. Furthermore, the successful candidate will serve as the finance point of contact for all matters related to school financial operations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Accountant at Bateen World Academy Abu Dhabi

As the Senior Accountant, you will review and approve purchase requisitions for budget availability and process supplier payments via three-way matching on time. Moreover, you will manage petty cash as per policy and handle asset creation, depreciation runs, and monthly closing of the fixed assets module. In addition, you will prepare monthly MIS reports and present them to the Principal and Operations Senior Manager for decision making. Furthermore, you will prepare bank reconciliation statements, monthly balance sheet schedules, and support the annual school budget preparation in coordination with the HQ Finance team. You will also support internal and external audits by providing audit documentation.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must hold a degree in Accounting, with professional certifications such as CPA, CA, CMA, or CFA considered a plus. Additionally, a minimum of five years of experience in a finance function is required. Moreover, candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of advanced accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle or SAP. Furthermore, excellent communication, presentation, and administrative skills are essential for this role.
