Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based Chemistry lessons aligned with the IB curriculum (MYP and DP), therefore ensuring students achieve excellent academic outcomes.
• Foster a love of science through hands‑on practical work, real‑world applications, and interdisciplinary projects that connect Chemistry to global issues.
• Assess and monitor student progress using IB assessment criteria, then use data to inform planning, intervention, and to close learning gaps.
• Create a positive, inclusive laboratory environment that promotes safety, curiosity, and intellectual risk‑taking.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to develop curriculum resources, share best practice, and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and guardians through regular communication, parent‑teacher conferences, and reports.
• Contribute to the school’s vibrant extra‑curricular programme, including science clubs, STEM competitions, and enrichment activities.

Requirements And Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) OR a degree in Chemistry (or related field) plus PGCE/PGDE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Chemistry at secondary level, preferably within an IB or British curriculum school.
• Strong subject knowledge of Chemistry across Key Stages 3–5 (IGCSE, A Level, or IB).
• Outstanding classroom practice with a passionate, enthusiastic, creative, and dynamic approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Commitment to inclusive education, differentiation, and student‑centred learning.
• Clean police check / DBS as required by Taaleem’s safeguarding policy.
