Registered Nurses Cath Lab Services Dubai Full-time

This role manages the complete periprocedural care of patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization—from elective coronary angiograms and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) to emergency primary angioplasty for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). You will prepare patients for procedures, assist with scrub or circulating duties, monitor hemodynamics, and manage post-procedural vascular access sites and complications. The team at Fakeeh University Hospital operates a high-volume cath lab, and your clinical vigilance directly affects door-to-balloon times and patient survival outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including obtaining informed consent, verifying allergies, and establishing intravenous access.
• Assist during diagnostic and interventional procedures as scrub nurse, circulating nurse, or monitoring nurse, handling catheters, guidewires, balloons, and stents.
• Monitor patients’ hemodynamic status continuously during procedures, including ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and intra-cardiac pressures.
• Administer and document procedural medications including anticoagulants, antiplatelets, sedatives, and emergency drugs under physician direction.
• Manage post-procedural care including removal of arterial and venous sheaths, application of closure devices, and monitoring for bleeding, hematoma, or retroperitoneal hemorrhage.
• Recognize and respond to cath lab emergencies such as ventricular fibrillation, contrast reaction, coronary dissection, or cardiac arrest.
• Maintain and operate cath lab equipment including hemodynamic monitoring systems, injectors, ablation units, and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
• Document all procedural events, medication administration, and patient handovers using electronic medical records in compliance with hospital policies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid nursing license from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or eligibility to transfer.
• Minimum 2 years of current nursing experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory setting.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification current within 12 months.
• Demonstrated competency in hemodynamic monitoring, sterile technique, and emergency response in a cath lab environment.
• Ability to manage stress and make rapid clinical decisions during high-acuity procedures such as STEMI or cardiac arrest.
• Strong teamwork and adaptability to work with interventional cardiologists, radiographers, and anaesthesia staff across shift patterns including on-call rotations.
