NMC Healthcare is currently looking to hire a candidate for the job role of Registered Nurse in Medical Oncology Ward in NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah, UAE. Candidate will be responsible for arrangement of stocks in a proper and scientific manner. This is an Intermediate level full time role. For this position salary ranges from 6000-12000 AED, which may be slightly negotiable during the interview process.
Responsibilities of Registered Nurse
- Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
- Assess and identify patients’ needs and implement and monitor the patient’s medical plan and treatment. They will work with a team of physicians and other health care specialists or allied health in various settings.
- Perform systematic patient assessment and collect pertinent data about the patient’s health or situation.
- Understand and analyze the assessment information and data.
- Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient’s planned care.
- Create and evaluate patient care plans with the medical team.
- Record vital signs, recognize, and address abnormalities.
- Define the care plan in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Maintain and update the technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice.
- Employ strategies to promote patients’ health and a safe environment.
- Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory exams.
- Perform essential life support (BLS/ACLS)
- Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and reactions.
- Provide wound care management.
- Assist in medical procedures invasive or non-invasive as needed.
- Facilitate the process of safe patient`s admission and discharge.
Unit Specific
- Demonstrate on understanding & Utilization of evidence-based health care.
- Performs all aspects of nursing care for patients who are in Medical Oncology ward in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of health care errors.
- Must have excellent observation skills, able to think critically and to make quick and effective decisions.
- Able to perform procedures like:
- Catheterization/ catheter care.
- Oral and nasal suctioning.
- Eye care.
- Mouth care.
- Oxygen therapy.
- Tracheostomy care.
- Endotracheal suctioning.
- Last offices of deceased patient.
- NG feeding /Gastric lavage.
- Glucose Monitoring.
- Enema/flatus tube insertion.
- ECG.
- Blood transfusion.
- Able to assist with procedures like:
- Lumbar puncture.
- Abdominal paracentesis.
- Intercostal drainage.
- Pleural aspiration..
- Organize assigned duties.
- Develop, implement and evaluate the care plans.
- Accurately monitor and record patient’s condition.
- Perform a head-to-toe assessment and re-assessments on patient as per assessment policy.
- Adequately assess and re-assess pain as per Pain Assessment Policy.
- Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.
- Report any abnormality in a patient’s condition immediately to the medical staff.
- Competent in all aspects of nursing care.
- Document on patient record as per current standards and policies.
- Assist physician with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
- Perform routine and advanced nursing procedures/Skills.
- Able to function efficiently in patient care within the unit and relieve other nursing units in the hospital if necessary.
Requirements for Role of Registered Nurse
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience after qualification.
