Job Description

Registered Nurse in Maternity Ward at NMC Royal Hospital will always put the health, wellbeing and safety of their patient first as they assess, plan, implement and evaluate their needs. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 4000-8000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Registered Nurse

  • Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
  • Assess and identify patients’ needs and implement and monitor the patient’s medical plan and treatment. They will work with a team of physicians and other health care specialists or allied health in various settings
  • Perform systematic patient assessment and collect pertinent data about the patient’s health or situation.
  • Understand and analyze the assessment information and data
  • Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues
  • Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient’s planned care
  • Create and evaluate patient care plans with the medical team
  • Record vital signs, recognize and address abnormalities
  • Define the care plan in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Maintain and update the technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice
  • Employ strategies to promote patients’ health and a safe environment.
  • Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory exams
  • Perform essential life support (BLS
  • Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and reactions
  • Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor patients for any reactions.
  • Provide wound care management
  • Assist in medical procedures invasive or non-invasive as needed
  • Facilitate the process of safe patient`s admission and discharge.
  • Performs the initial assessment of the patients
  • Performs nursing procedures with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort
  • Strictly adheres to performing ‘TIME Out’ before the procedure

What you will do more

  • Ensures strict aseptic techniques are followed while performing the various procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the unit as per infection control and waste management policy of the hospital
  • Demonstrates deep knowledge in the nursing care of patients undergoing procedures
  • Competent in monitoring of patients during and post sedation / anesthesia
  • Provides appropriate health teaching to the patient and family about further management and care
  • Prepares, administers and documents medication if given to the patient
  • Maintains and updates all records.
  • OSHAD:
  • Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply with those requirements.
  • Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
  • Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
  • Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
  • Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

Requirements for Role of Registered Nurse

  • Have an appropriate license to work as a nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority (DoH, DHA) with all the qualification and experience this mandates.
  • Have basic life support qualification (within past 24 months)
  • 2 years experience/expertise in the clinical field in which they are employed.

  • Manage their own professional revalidation
  • Have an active interest in the clinical field in which they are employed
  • Be willing to work across departments when necessary
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)
