Job Description

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City is seeking a qualified General Radiographer (GeneralĀ  Radiology) to join them in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The incumbent will be responsible for, independently or under the supervision of senior radiographers performing all general radiography imagery procedures, analyzing the output and reporting to the supervisor as needed.

Responsibilities of General Radiographer

  • Plans and performs all general radiography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Records and reports shortage of materials and maintains records for ordering and replenishments.
  • Performs other radiography (special) procedures as required.
  • Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards images to the Radiologist for review and reporting.
  • Maintains a clean and tidy working environment including restocking supplies for subsequent use and equipment cleaning.
  • Provides advice to medical/technical staff on appropriate techniques and clinical staff on appropriate imagery interventions.
  • Performs diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain skills in all areas of General Radiography as per the requirements of the facility.

Education & Experience of General Radiographer

At SSMC, the position of General Radiographer requires following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelorā€™s degree from an accredited university in a Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program.
  • Diploma in Radiology (minimum three (3) years course duration).
  • Current national license.
  • NLT 2 yearsā€™ experience as radiographer in a multi-modality site/facility including OR, trauma, etc. in an acute care hospital.
