Job Description:
As a Purchasing Executive at our soft commodities trading company, you will play a crucial role in our procurement and purchasing operations. Your primary responsibilities will involve sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring soft commodities and food products, ensuring a steady supply to our diverse customer base. This role will be directly reporting to the purchasing director.
Key Qualifications and Responsibilities
– FMCG Experience: Previous experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is essential. Familiarity with the dynamics of this industry will be a significant advantage.
– Purchasing and Procurement Knowledge: Strong knowledge of purchasing and procurement principles, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
– Soft Commodities Expertise: Understanding of soft commodities such as Sugar, Rice, Wheat, Soybeans, and other relevant food products is required.
– Food and Non-Food Items: Previous experience in procuring both food and non-food items is preferred, as it will enable you to effectively manage our diverse product portfolio.
– Supermarket or Fresh Produce Experience: Experience working in a supermarket or fresh produce company is a valuable asset, as it provides insights into consumer preferences and market trends.
– Minimum 5 Years of Experience: You should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement and purchasing roles.
– Import & Export Knowledge: While not mandatory, familiarity with import and export processes will be beneficial in this role.
– Travel: The position may involve occasional travel to parts of Eastern Europe and China, so a willingness to travel is required.
