Job Description

EDGE Group is actively hiring highly qualified and experienced candidate for the job role of a Prototyping Chief Technician. The selected candidate will be assigned to work HALCON Company (subsidiary of EDGE Group). Responsibilities of Prototyping Chief Technician

Assist to upskill Prototyping workshop personnel through in-house training, as well as identifying external courses.
Plan and manage the prototyping manufacturing schedule studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference plans, locations of surfaces and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference plans, locations of surfaces and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Programs mills & lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, calculating requirements including math, geometry and trigonometry and pivoting part programs.
Maintains specifications by the following activities such as Observing all CAD/CAM process, strategy and approach, Detecting malfunctions, Troubleshooting processes, Adjusting and reprogramming controls and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Creates 3, 5 and 7 axis NC programs utilizing high accuracy machining techniques and using machine simulation software.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Operate, maintain, and manage CNC Milling machines and/or lathes.
Set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample work pieces adhering to international standards.
Identify and report discrepancies, detect malfunctions, technical issues and problems with quality, processes, equipment and material and troubleshoot processes.
Adjust and reprogram controls.
Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
Plan stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available, anticipating needed stock, placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for fulfilling new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to the job.
Maintain a safe and efficient manufacturing environment by maintaining housekeeping standards and safe working practices, report potential hazards to the supervisor.
Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Evaluate the fidelity of prototyped product against set manufacturing requirements.
Steer and support technical personnel reporting to your function to deliver on their responsibilities as designated by the Workshop Manager.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for in role of Prototyping Chief Technician are as under:

Diploma or higher and/or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
At least 20 yr. (NTC5), 17 yr. (T3), 15 yr. (T4 / B-Tech) or 10 yr. (M.Tech) of related experience, preferably, in the aerospace industry.
Well versed in CAM software (MasterCAM, Edge CAM, NX, Vericut or CATIA).
Experience on controllers including Fanuc turn and mill, Heidenheim Controls, Siemens, Mazak Gsk controller, Syntec.
