Project Surveyor Dubai United Arab Emirates Full-time

At a leading engineering and construction firm in the UAE, you will be the eyes and ears on the ground for every phase of project delivery – from initial topographic surveys to final as‑built verification. You will use total stations, GPS, and laser scanners to measure and map terrain, establish control points, and set out foundations, structures, and utilities with millimetre accuracy. Every coordinate you capture and every stake you plant will ensure that design meets reality, saving time, materials, and rework costs on multi‑million dirham projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic, boundary, and control surveys for infrastructure, residential, and industrial projects using total stations (Leica, Trimble), GPS, and laser scanning equipment.
• Set out foundations, columns, road alignments, pipe networks, and building grids from approved drawings and BIM models, ensuring compliance with project specifications and tolerances (e.g., ±5mm).
• Perform as‑built surveys at critical construction stages, recording deviations and updating digital terrain models (DTMs) for quantity verification.
• Calculate cut and fill volumes, earthwork quantities, and material take‑offs from survey data to support cost control and progress payments.
• Process raw survey data using software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or GIS platforms, producing clean drawings and reports for engineers and project managers.
• Maintain and calibrate survey instruments daily, ensuring batteries, prisms, and tripods are in perfect working order and certificates of calibration are current.
• Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and quality control teams to resolve positioning discrepancies and provide real‑time layout guidance.
• Manage survey records, including field notes, sketches, data logs, and digital files, ensuring full traceability for audit and handover requirements.
• Follow strict health and safety protocols, including traffic management when working near live roads and use of PPE at all times.
• Train and guide junior survey assistants and technicians in field procedures and instrument handling.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognised university.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a Project Surveyor in construction or civil engineering projects within the UAE or GCC region.
• Strong proficiency with total stations (Leica TS series, Trimble S series), GPS (RTK, static), digital levels, and 3D laser scanners.
• Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar survey data processing software, including creating surfaces, alignments, and point clouds.
• Thorough knowledge of local surveying standards, coordinate systems (UTM, local grid), and authorities’ submission requirements (e.g., Dubai Municipality, RTA, Abu Dhabi DOT).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BIM models, and utility plans.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail down to millimetre precision.
• Good English communication skills (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
• Valid UAE driving license and ability to work on‑site in remote locations with flexible hours (including night surveys when required).
