This Project Manager role at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City carries end-to-end accountability for medium to large projects with department or site-level strategic importance, managing moderate to high risk, cross-functional interdependencies, and significant budgets within SSMC’s Enterprise and Transformation project management framework. You work with considerable independence, leading one or multiple concurrent projects from initiation through to customer handoff while navigating a complex matrix environment spanning clinical, operational, and administrative functions. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and deliver project activities across the full project lifecycle from initiation through to handoff. Achieve project objectives on time, on budget, and in full conformance with SSMC Enterprise and Transformation project management methodologies and standards.
• Manage established project budgets and participate in the creation and tracking of new project budgets. Adhere strictly to institutional budget management guidelines across all assigned projects.
• Facilitate problem-solving, decision-making, and change management across project teams. Take prudent, independent action to keep project objectives on track under minimal supervision.
• Apply negotiation skills and entrepreneurial thinking to manage competing priorities, resource constraints, and stakeholder expectations across diverse functional groups.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments, divisions, and external contractors and vendors. Navigate matrix supervision and evaluation of staff from multiple organisational units effectively.
• Ensure all project documents, plans, and data are complete, current, and stored appropriately throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and distribute regular project status reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Promote a project-focused culture within SSMC. Advise and guide other staff on PM practices, methods, and standards as a visible subject matter resource within the transformation function.
• Manage direct and indirect reports where applicable. Model professional project management standards in every team interaction and deliverable.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Healthcare Management, Health Administration, Quality, Finance, Marketing, or a relevant field from a recognised institution. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 7–8 years of progressive experience in a project management role, with 3–5 years of supervisory experience managing cross-functional teams.
• Current PMP or PRINCE2 certification — or actively in the process of obtaining one. Solid working familiarity with the Project Management Body of Knowledge is essential.
• Demonstrated competence managing medium to large projects with moderate to high risk profiles, significant budgets, and complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to engage effectively across clinical, operational, financial, and administrative functions within a large healthcare organisation.
• Experience in a large healthcare facility is strongly preferred. Familiarity with UAE healthcare governance, accreditation frameworks, and hospital operations is a significant advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to produce clear project reports and facilitate high-stakes decision-making meetings.
