NAFFCO presently has a job opening for suitably qualified and experienced candidate for position of a Project Cost Accountant (CMA Qualified).

Job Description of Project Cost Accountant

  • Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses, reviewing invoices, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for project stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and variances.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, including budget estimates and financial justifications.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing to clients or funding agencies, following project-specific guidelines.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper allocation and utilization of project funds.
  • Perform regular audits and financial reconciliations to ensure compliance with project guidelines and regulations.
  • Provide financial support and guidance to project teams, answering any financial-related queries or concerns.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to project accounting, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CMA qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project accounting or similar role.
  • Experience working in the construction or engineering industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
