Primary ICT Teacher Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Full-time

This role provides direct counselling support to students across Charter Schools in Al Ain, addressing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges while working closely with teachers, parents, and leadership to promote wellbeing and academic success. You will develop intervention plans, conduct risk assessments, and facilitate group or individual sessions tailored to the developmental needs of children in a diverse, multilingual school community. The position operates within Bloom Education’s network, where your Arabic language skills (advantage) and counselling expertise directly contribute to a vibrant, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling sessions for students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties, using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Conduct initial assessments and risk evaluations for students referred by teachers or parents, then develop intervention plans with measurable goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and external specialists (e.g., psychologists, social workers) to create coordinated support strategies.
• Deliver classroom-based wellbeing lessons on topics such as emotional regulation, conflict resolution, resilience, and mental health awareness.
• Maintain confidential and accurate case notes, counselling records, and progress reports in line with school policies and UAE regulations.
• Support students in crisis situations, including safeguarding concerns, bereavement, family issues, or bullying, following child protection protocols.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing guidance on supporting their child’s emotional and social development at home.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to student support plans and attending professional development to stay current in counselling practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of postgraduate experience as a school counsellor or in a similar child-focused counselling role.
• Arabic language skills are an advantage (but not mandatory).
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection policies, and risk assessment frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to work with children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds in an educational setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Clean police clearance certificate from home country or current country of residence.
• Willingness to undergo child protection screening and provide references including current Principal.
